“	The Mafia Wars Valentine's Day Event is coming your way! For this special event, you'll be working on collecting Broken Hearts that'll randomly drop when you do jobs, fight, or rob your opponents. When a heart drops from jobs, fights, or robbing, you'll also get a chance to get a mini-game where you can win up to 5 more hearts! The Broken Hearts will also be giftable from your free gifts page, so when the event is underway, be sure to be generous and share your hearts with your mafia so they'll return the favor. Something important to keep in mind is that the more base energy you have, the harder the job you should select to get your Broken Heart drops - so if you have 1000 energy, doing 2 energy jobs in New York or Italy won't get you heart drops. The goal here is to collect as many Broken Hearts as you can get your hands on - you'll then get to pick from 4 loot items to redeem the hearts for. The more valuable the loot item, the more hearts it'll cost you. If you're really lucky, you'll can also have a chance to loot the rare Golden Hearts, which are equivalent to 5 Broken Hearts. You never know where one will drop or if one might appear when you accept a gift, so be on the lookout.	”

OverviewEdit

Cupid has invaded Mafia Wars and Valentine's Day is around the corner! To celebrate the Valentine Holiday, a special Valentine's Day Event has arrived to earn Golden and Broken Hearts to collect 4 different Valentine's Day themed items! So skip the wilting roses, teddy bears, chocolate boxes and act selfishly to earn and collect as much Valentine's Day loot as you can!

The Love is Hard to Find Combo Event is our first event where there are multiple ways to get items!

Collect Broken Hearts by

completing jobs
winning fights
robbing properties.
playing the Love is Hard to Find Mini-Game
Free Gifts
posting and clicking on wall posts
purchase from the Marketplace (1 Broken Heart = 1 )

To increase your chances of looting Broken Hearts through jobs, be sure to complete jobs which require higher amounts of energy. For example, completing jobs in New York or Italy which require the lowest amount of energy to complete will only lower your chance of collecting a Broken Heart. Jobs that require a higher percentage of your maximum energy will increase your chances of looting a Broken Heart.

A Valentine mini-game will also be available to increase the chances of collecting extra Broken Hearts. This mini-game will appear at random when completing jobs, fights, or robs and present four doors to choose from with a possibility of discovering up to 5 extra Broken Hearts. The first time you play the game, it's free. You can also replay the game for 1 Reward Point. Good Luck.

In addition, it's also possible to earn Golden Hearts, which are equal to 5 Broken Hearts.

Daily Maximum Collection limits (limits reset at midnight local time)

10 Broken Hearts can be looted per day from Jobs

each Broken Heart has a super-rare secret % chance of being a Golden Heart, for a maximum of 1 per day from Jobs

10 Broken Hearts can be looted per day from Fighting

each Broken Heart has a super-rare secret % chance of being a Golden Heart, for a maximum of 1 per day from Fighting

10 Broken Hearts can be looted per day from Robbing

each Broken Heart has a super-rare secret % chance of being a Golden Heart, for a maximum of 1 per day from Robbing

40 Broken Hearts can be collected per day from free gift accepts

each accept has a 1% chance of being a Golden Heart
Anything after the 20th Broken Heart per day becomes a Mystery Bag.

5 Broken Hearts can be collected per day from your ask for Broken Hearts wall posts

no limit to how many times you can post an ask wall post
the first five friends to click on an ask wall post, will send one your way
you cannot click to collect from your own wall post

10 Broken Hearts can be collected per day from clicking on a friend's wall post

there are two different types of wall posts (ask and share)
you can collect up to 5 Broken Hearts for each type
when you click on an ask wall post, it will also send one to your friend

maxing out 5 Broken Hearts for each wall past, you will get You collected the max number of Broken Hearts from this type of feed. Try again tomorrow.
getting beat by 5 people, you will get You are too late. All the Broken Hearts have been claimed. Look out for more.

5 Broken Hearts can be collected per day from clicking on a friend's Golden Heart wall post.

there is no limit to the number of Broken Hearts you can collect from playing the Mini-Game (it does require 1 Reward Point to replay the Mini-Game)

We are happy to announce that there will be a few changes to the Love Is Hard to Find Combo Event. The event has been extended and will end on 2/22/2011 at 11:59pm PST. The number of Broken Hearts that you can accept from your mafia has increased from 20 to 40. All changes will take place with tonights release. You can still collect from gift links. So you can manage an extra Total Eclipse or maybe even a Cardiac Arrest by the 26th.

They changed the 20 gifts per day to 40 gifts per day and i just collected 10 gold hearts and 10 red hearts from feed so far so i edited this post.

yeah you gonna loose all hearts.. that's why the event sucks. you need 325 hearts if you want to have each item.

i see the mini game pop up but goes away before i can click it. all the pop ups for this series dont stay on the screen long enough to click. i have no trouble with secret drop, red bags, share screens or any other, just this mission...any help would be appreciated.

I've only managed to get 55 today: Gifts: 20 + 1 more from a mini game Feed: 4 Robbing: 10 + 3 from mini games + 5 from a gold heart Jobs: 2 Fighting: 10
I'm under the impression that the golden heart is extra, but all the others (feed and mini games) get taken away from what you can get from other sources. In any case, I've received 55 today, and only 2 were from jobs, and they seem to have stopped dropping.
In any case, it would be really nice if they added something that would tell you how many you have left to collect from each source today.

Replying to myself: I was wrong, and the update above looks correct. It's just that I'm finding that the drop rate for hearts in jobs is less than one per level for me, so I thought I was out of luck.

Well i have Love Bird and Cardiac Arrest with 31 left over. I get about 70 a day plus the mini game wins and Bonus golden hearts. There is no actual max number a day.

The lovebird is useless IMO. Didn't do a damn thing to boost my stats. I'm personally saving for the higher tier items like the Cardiac Arrest first and then working my way down from that to the Total Eclipse and Bullet Proof Heart to make sure it will boost my stats.

This event seems like a real lot of effort for items that have, by current day MW standards, about the same value as a high end loot drop. Not that I dont want all 4 - I just dont know if I can stand spending hours trying to get 325 broken hearts to get all 4.

I actually think that the base number is 70 not 55. The person that updated this page did not take into account the 20 you can pick up from feed posts (5 each from your ask post, your friends' ask posts, your friends' get posts, and your friends' golden heart posts) and they added 5 for a golden heart ... which I don't think is 100%. However, if you manage to find a golden heart robbing, fighting, AND doing jobs he number is closer to 82 but then you have to add some random number for whatever you find with the broken heart mini game. I've managed to get 80 so far today.

it depends on how much maximum energy you have: higher energy higher job cost needed to get a heart from jobs (around 4% base energy i think)

you can get more broken hearst per day. first of all, you can get golden heart more than once per day. i got 2 today, one from jobs, one from fighting. you also can get golden heart from guessing right when it comes to selecting where hearts might be.
