This timed Secret District in Brazil contains 9 new jobs that 75+ level players will need to complete before 4pm (Zynga time) on August 30, 2011. To get a head start on completing Smuggler's Haven, you could unlock it early by finishing Mission Event: Get A Grip! It was automatically unlocked on Tuesday, August 16, 2011.

One of the things that makes Mafia Wars so much fun is that it is a living, evolving game. We work hard to release a lot of exciting content and extensively test every feature and event prior to release, but sometimes imbalances don’t become apparent until those features are in use by millions of players. Unfortunately, the XP/energy ratios of the Smuggler’s Haven Secret District is one of those cases and we have determined that they need to be adjusted again this afternoon to preserve the balance that keeps Mafia Wars fun for everyone. The ratios will be closer to those found throughout the rest of Brazil. We want to apologize for the inconvenience, so as a consolation, we will be increasing the stats of the loot received in Smuggler’s Haven. We hope you enjoy the better loot!

Once El Dorado was re-opened, I can't do either Smuggler's Haven or El Dorado Is there anyone experimenting the same problem? I mean, when Smuggler's Haven was available again, I could do it time after time. Now I can't.

The mastery level for "Recover Lost Cargo" changed from 7% to 6%, which is why you need more consumables.

Don't really look at those stupid things on the home screen but today I see new district. I was WOW, again so soon. I click to do it and I am locked out. I guess I did this district way back when. Zynga is doing the most stupid things possible to milk this game.

Actually, you will get 36 skill points, not to mention the exp you will get, and the 5 atk/def/skill points the same way as in the new secret districts... And the ruby item... Because you will get 12 days to finish it... So isn't a so bad deal... But, it's a game... No one is obliged to buy again the secret district.... Everyone have the choice to decide what to do with their rp's...

anyone notice that Smuggler's Haven came back for an hour or so, tonight? i thought i was gonna be able to complete ruby tier, it said there was still 5 days left. i guess it was just switched back on by zinga, because it's gone now.

Need $$$? Fight in Brazil, Sell off an already mastered tiers items in the city store and do the "Break Mafia Members Out of Taubate" job in the last district as it's Energy/$$$ rate is good.

Do NOT rob in Brazil for cash, your stamina is better spent fighting. I also recommend using Assassin-A-Nator and under the "filters" button, change the "Minimum Cash Gained" to $1, that way you will only spend stamina on people with money and once their money is gone.... you are too.

Seriously wtf? As usual there mid-event changes benefit the higher players (as they used the ratios to get it done quick and serial level) and punish the lower players (who have not finished it yet and now will take even longer to do so). How is that 'balancing', i am surprised there are any lower level / new players at all given that this is always the result of such changes.

For lower level players ( 244 ) the Energy needed and the exp are soo much lower for the bronze... there all under 50 for energy and under 100 for exp....

Ive been unable to access Smuggler's Haven all day today. I'm almost done with the Gold tier and now when I go there it's a blank page! All the jobs are gone. the top of the page appears and the bottom with the copyright info appears and that's it. Anyone else having this issue?

Lol nice with 6500 energy infinite loop of leveling up, earned over 200 lvl's in just a few hours, so that makes over 200 RPs and pretty nice amount of skill points :D
