Contents

Robbing was reintroduced on March 27, 2010. It was first available in New York and became available in the other cities on April 27, 2010. A player has to spend a property-specific amount of Stamina to rob that building. Additionally, only a certain amount of mafia members are allowed to help on a building. As a reward for successfully robbing a property, the player gets a certain amount of cash (or Consumables) and some experience. What is more, there is a small chance that a successful robbery will reward the player with a Robbing Collection item or a regular loot item. The robbing attack value is based on the individual attack skill plus the weapon stats for the mafia members. However, there also is some random multiplier since robbing similar buildings (e.g., Restaurants) several times will result in different attack values. If you clear the entire 3x3 robbing grid, you get additional experience points,[1] as well as a regular loot item. (You do not have to be successful on every robbery attempt in order to receive these bonuses.) You can then also refresh the grid for free.

On April 19, 2010, the Dockyard, Flophouse, Office Park, Restaurant and Warehouse were re-integrated back into robbing. Sometime prior to April 29, 2010, the stamina costs in Cuba, Moscow, and Bangkok were significantly increased.

You can no longer rob in Cuba, Moscow, Bangkok or Italy, as these cities are now closed.

Note the difficulty statements. They illustrate your stats compared to the building owners' stats. Easy means that your skills are higher than the owner's skills. Hard means your skills are lower than the owner's skills. Medium implies that both users' stats are somewhat similar. There is no guarantee that you will always succeed in easy robberies.

If someone's property has already been robbed such that they have only approximately 30% of their take left, their property will not show up on the robbing page. If one attempts to rob that property from the profile page, a message is shown saying "Police Line: Do Not Cross."

All of the loot that is found during robbing is the same as you can get while fighting.

For example: In order to reach level 4, you need 135 (10 + 25 + 100) successful robberies.

*Due to numeric round-off when calculating the percentage value of the progress meter, the next level is achieved when the number of successful robberies reaches 95.5% of the requirement.

**After reaching Level 10, the progress meter resets to 0%. The meter will show progress percentages, but the number required to reach 100% is not yet known. It is projected to be approximately 25,000 successful robberies, as 1% was indicated near 250. It is not clear if the calculation round-off for progress percentage is the same at Level 10. The progress meter continues to 100%, but level 11 mastery is not granted.

How The Result is Determined for RobbingEdit

Basically, when you attempt to rob another player, the result is determined based on the following:

[(Your Attack Skill) + (25% of your Mafia Attack Strength) + (A Random Roll based on 75% of your Mafia Attack Strength)] * (Robbing Attack Boosts, if applicable)

vs.

(Defender's Defense Skill) + (25% of their Mafia Defense Strength) + (A Random Roll based on 75% of their Mafia Defense Strength) + (Robbing Defense Boosts, if applicable)

Unlike Robbing Defense Boosts, which merely add to the defender's overall number, Robbing Attack Boosts such as Fast Cash (which gives you a +100% chance of robbing your next property successfully) and Easy Money (which gives you a +50% chance of robbing your next property successfully) apply a multiplier to the robber's overall number.

As an example, let's say you are trying to rob someone's Flophouse (each player brings one extra friend along for the robbery). Your Attack skill is 800, and your two best offensive weapons, armor, vehicles, and animals add up to a total attack strength of 600; and you don't have any Robbing Attack Boosts. Your opponent has a Defense skill of 400; their two best defensive weapons, armor, vehicles, and animals combine for a total defense strength of 600; and they don't have any Robbing Defense Boosts. You initiate the robbery and the following numbers are used:

Your result will be:


800 (Your Attack Skill) + 150 (25% of Mafia Attack Strength) + a random number between 1 and 450 (75% of Mafia Attack Strength) = A number between 951 and 1400


The defender's result will be:

400 (Their Defense Skill) + 150 (25% of Mafia Defense Strength) + a random number between 1 and 450 (75% of Mafia Defense Strength) = A number between 551 and 1000


The robbery will be successful if your number (which is somewhere between 951 and 1400) is greater than their number (which is somewhere between 551 and 1000). (Ties go to the defender, just as they go to the defender in fights.)

What this means is that your Attack and Defense skills are still very important in robbing, and every point invested in them will give you a real advantage during robberies. Furthermore, the Robbing Attack Boosts make a big difference, since Fast Cash multiplies the robber's overall number by 2.0 (i.e., a +100% chance of winning) and Easy Money multiplies the robber's overall number by 1.5 (i.e., a +50% chance of winning). Yes, there is still an element of randomness in robbing, but probably not as much as some of you may think.

Difficulty LevelsEdit

You will see properties labeled as "Easy", "Medium", and "Hard". This simply refers to the similarity between your offensive firepower and your opponent's defensive strength before the random number has been added. As a result, you can win or lose all types of robberies.

  • You will win 85% of "Easy" robberies.
  • You will win 50% of "Medium" robberies.
  • You will win 15% of "Hard" robberies.

BrazilEdit

With the coming of Brazil the Robbing scene had a little extra change. Only in Brazil (so far) you can rob a collection item from other players (Precious Collection).

CollectionsEdit

The Tools of the Trade Collection should be fairly easy to get. Its collectables randomly drop from successful robberies. The Stolen Diamond Collection is significantly more rare. Its collectables randomly drop from successfully clearing the grid. It is possible to achieve the diamond set without clearing the grid, however the chances are extremly slim without doing so (odds are likely to be less than one in a thousand).[3]

Stolen Diamond CollectionEdit

  • Obtained: Chance for these items drop is very rare, observed probability is ~1% (of clear grid bonuses) for Grand Master Thief with ~50% robbing success. Stolen diamonds are gained by clearing a full grid, with odds possibly increased by scoring 9-0 (Success on all 9).
  • -> Stolen diamonds can be obtained without clearing a full grid, but this is even more rare.
  • Vault Bonus: Improve odds of successful robberies by 10%
  • Revault Bonus: Cannot revault

Other RobbingEdit

Robbing is also available on each player's profile page. You can rob the property until a Police Line graphic appears, but the experience is about half compared to robbing from the table (about 1:1 ratio of stamina to experience). Also, each time you rob a single target from their profile page, it does not increase the number of robbing jobs for your Robbing Mastery Level. Robbing from profile pages is slightly harder as you are not presented with the color coded difficulty bars. Only Gambling Dens can maximize the amount of B$ received for your stamina.

Robbing LootEdit

  • Loot - List of the possible items gained from regular robbing & clearing the 3x3 grid.
  • On May 6,2011 all Fight Loot was integrated into Robbing.

NotesEdit

  1. The experience reward for clearing a grid varies from player to player, where players with higher levels are inclined to get higher experience rewards. The formula could be stated as x + nx, where "x" is a number between 1 and 10, and "n" is the number of succesful robberies in a grid. Maximum experience per succesful robbery seems to be gained from level 500 and above. Update 25.5: This was reduced a lot today and the average bonus changed from 70 to 25xp! Update 5.8.2010: The experience reward for clearing the full board is calculated as the sum of experience gained on all robberies on the board (won and lost) divided by 5 and rounded down.
  2. This is the basic amount of money you receive for successfully robbing this property. It does not consider the bonus from vaulting the Tools of Trade Collection. Example: Successfully robbing a level 10 Flophouse will always pay $1,200.
  3. "Keep in mind that the items in the Stolen Diamond Collection can only drop on full grid clears. And, doing better on the grid will give you a better chance at a diamond drop. This is still a SUPER RARE set, so be patient as you work to get all the items!" [1]

  • there seems to be a certain pattern in the properties that appear on the robbing board, i robbed in bangkok for 4 days and noticed the exact same robbing board 1-2 times per day o.o

  • I think the game lies sometimes about the difficulty of the buildings. Most of the time i only rob easy buildings, but i lose them sometimes because the owner's stats (attack/defence) is higher than mine (no boosts), so that makes them medium or hard. Either the game messes up with the graphics or they do it on purpose.

  • Anyone need Koh-I-Noor diamond? I have two to spare and need either the Pair of Idol's Eye, Pair of Regent or Great Star of Africa.

  • They need to update the loot from robbing. The only things with any relevance are the collection drops and once you do the turn ins they are useless except to pass on to your friends so they can complete their collections. Consumables help, but you don't really get a lot relatively speaking compared to items and again, once you finish up the job they go with they become useless except as gifts for the underprivileged. The items are all junk. Items with 40 something attack or defense are quickly outdated by items that you acquire from other things. They update all the other loot periodically but the loot from robbing hasn't changed since day one.

  • I got a feeling that your defense skills are equally important nowadays. Since I became so fed up with being beaten up while i'm offline, I increased only defense skills. It seems that I now have a higher chance of winning a fight I initiated. I'm not sure whether the same formula is still used.

  • this is stupid . i have attack of 2759 and i lost by only using 2528? where did my attack go ? i spent so much skill points on that and now i find out it's irrelevant?

    • Weird, because I'd swear my attack was at 130x earlier today (without any boost), and now it's at 1272... ><

  • any tips on clearing the board 9-0? i'm level 8 at robbing, but i might clear a board once every couple hundred tries... annoying as hell for sure

    • The only sure ways to increase your chances are higher attack skill points, higher equipment stats, and vaulting the diamonds collection. Given the 75% equipment value 'dice roll' robbing is always going to be hit n miss, the chances of a full board clear are not great for anybody.

      That being said... the thing i do is to always start robbing with a full burner set, do the harder ones first until only the last 1 or 2 easiest on the board are left and then decide if the amount of failures is worth using any burners (usually 2 is the most ill use on 1 board), then if they are successful i finish the board by doing the last 1 or 2 easy ones. If i have no burners i will often only clear boards for the sake of burning stamina, otherwise i will just go through each city doing the low stamina/easy ones for the sake of increasing mastery.

      I have a lot of stamina so could likely burn through the mastery quick enough but i prefer to finish my fight mastery and do tournaments. So getting the best stamina:mastery ratio for robbing is important, as well as wise use of burners to finish the 9-0 Italy achievement.

  • i seem to rarely get any loots from robbing, how can i ever complete any robbing collection?

  • 2 suggestions to get more players robbing again: 1. Increase the diamond drops 2. Bring in loot only gotten from robbing such as is available from fighting. No-one wants to rob and get crappy GX9's or Bodyguards these days.

    • Add VHEL and IHEL and I'll rob my ass off! =)

    • Increase Diamond drop rate??? To get 100s which aren't revaultable?? pööööh! :-( Y? Make the Tools revaultable- Security cam or reinforced door would be enough! Having 1000 full sets of those is annoying! Or stop it- we don't need those- same for butterfly knifes and brass knuckles! WTZ should be do with? At least they added the Pickpocket now - but very rare drop rate (1/300 boards yet)

    • Diamond drops are fine, when I hit level 10 in robing I`ve already had 5 of all of them increasing a loot would be great.   • When on robbing a profile, i won on all attempts on his armory, but failed 2 times on weapon depot? how is it possible? He can have a high defense on depot only?

    • Remember there is a random value added to your attack AND his defense. The value can be between 1 and 450, so effectively a 900 point swing.

      Since you beat him on all the other properties, I'm willing to bet your margin of defeat was less than 900.

  • there's something wrong with it right now..when you loot an item from robbing it is new in your inventory, but actually its now..try it

    i got 7 car parts~~ suggest to fix?

    • The car parts are pretty worthless these days. No one makes the new ones except for the sportster and that's only if you need it for your combined score... which most don't. I always just build the +6 stam one and that's that.

    • +3 attack/+3 defence stacks quite well. especially since i have 43 mugatis and 21 hunters


      thats 180+ free skill points, it might not be as badass as the rail gun, but the stats on the cars arent that shabby. i only fall back to the +6 one if i run out of car parts.

      either way, i like wikis but im too lazy to make an account, i was merely pointing out that the 6 car parts is likely before they increased the max level by 2.
