No Crime Like The Present was from December 21, 2010 to December 31, 2010.

No Crime Like The Present is an event with various types. You can sent Free Gifts (Mafia Tree building parts or presents). You can also Rob the building parts and presents from other players Mafia Trees. You can ask your friends to protect your Mafia Tree.

There are 13 new items.

Decorate your Mafia tree. Get decorations from your Mafia to upgrade your tree. The more your tree sparkles, the more presents you can hold.
Collect presents for your tree by getting them from your mafia. Remember to visit on December 25, 2010 for a free upgrade and the North Pole 110 93 203 reward.
Ask your mafia to protect your presents. Anyone can steal presents. So can you.
Open your presents on New Year's Day. If you have 45 presents on New Year's Day you earn the Grand Prize Auld Lang Syne 110 135 245.

Loot: When tree isn't fully upgraded you get Decorations (1, 2, 3) or presents (Blue, Green, Red). When tree is fully upgraded you get a Lump of Coal or presents (Blue, Green, Red).

Tree can only be robbed via the 3x3 robbing grids, NOT via profile robbing.
(NEED CONFIRM) You can avoid your tree getting robbed by collecting on any properties. (last 2 hours)

Of all the events this one sucks the most.Did not even get an ultimate or superior item.This is totally a fucking bug made by Zynga

opened 202 presents... 2x Achilles Salvation, 2x 40mm Bunker Buster and 5x Bengal Tiger... only every 22th gift, was one of the rarest.

Have opened exactly 80 presents till 21:30 on January 1, 2011, but have not got any Auld Lang Syne.... Have reported the same to Zynga, but to no avail...

Opened around 70 gifts, got all at least x5 except Mobile Garage, Shadow Transporter, Bengal Tiger and Bunker Buster. It must be bug!

i had 49 presents opened and no auld lang syne too, i got 6 whiplash, 1 pair of sky walker, 1 achilles salvation, 5 hard as nails, 4 amplitude, 1 shadow transporter, 3 et hybrid, 14 red fox, 1 bengal tiger, 0 mobile garage, 0 40mm bunker buster, this lame, with more than 45 presents should get all items, lame like time capsule or pinata pigs, stupid zynga

i've had 45 presents with no protectors for like 4 days. i just got one present stolen from me, but i got it back two seconds later. this event is easy if you try for two minutes

some people are luckier than others. I think you are one of the luckier ones. Imagine having full protection, and 45 gifts, only to wake up with 10 gifts the next morning. You can't blame that on people "not trying." How do you prevent gifts from being stolen if you already have full protection? By "trying" harder? Doesn't work. You just have to hope and rely on luck.
Personally, I have so much stamina that I can simply rob 45 gifts anytime I want, so it wasn't an issue. I simply re-fill my tree every day like that. But for low-level players, I can't see how they would manage.

I agree, the whole concept was lame because it was badly set out... after my tree was complete i just saved all my sacks and opened them all a few min before the event ended. This meant i didn't need to spent 24/7 spamming people for protection. The tree was nothing but a spam-a-thon, And in the end i still missed 4 of the 11 items, i did get a few extras of some ultimate/superior... but they are not giftable anyway so no trade-to-complete possibilities.
Seems to me they are flooding with gift/spam events to slow down how quickly people are able to upgrade properties/etc. But i sure hope they tone this bs down a bit.

I attacked someone with 241 bengal tigers now, someone who is in my mafia had also bengals tigers and others loot but zynga took from him before few days.

I had 45 gifts and 2 protectors when I left my computer ... 3 minutes later I logged in again ... 27 presents left WTF Are we suposed to stay on the tree page and waste 3 RP every minute to buy some stuipid protectors who will be killed anyway in the next 2 minutes ??? WTF just WTF !!!!
