Those bumper embellishments are called Dagmars in reference to an American actress who's stage name was Dagmar .... She was amply proportioned at the front and when these embellisments were added to early 50's cars, the name stuck.

The bumper "rockets" were called "Dagmars" for a reason that is probably lost to history. The car is a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. It cost $13,074 in 1957, more than a top-of-the-line Rolls Royce sedan, and featured many technologically advanced engineering features and high-end amenities.

Power seats with memory in 1957? Crazy. Cadillac could, on occasion, be far ahead of its time. First production car with an airbag system as an option. I'd still take a 1960 Caddy with the "8 body" trunk
